Ear Infection?????

Help! Jo has a low temperature. It has never been over 100 and his is normaly a really sweaty sleeper. He has been really fussy lately. I think it may be his teething because he eats his hands non-stop all day. The part that worries me is the many times a day where he pulls his ears. Does this mean something is wrong? or that he has just found his ears. I wish I had insurance for his four month appointment. I was just going to go to health department for shots. Ghetto huh?? How sad, I guess I just need to make an appointment. What are other signs?? and how can I make him feel better mean while. He has slept A LOT lately and cried the other half of the time. I know he is not feeling well because he gets calm when i strap him to me or rest with him or hold him close. He really gets me confused when he smiles and laughs during the day. My poor baby and what a horrible mommy I feel like.

Alivia teethed forever, and at one point I thought she had an ear infection because she kept touching her ears and was soooo cranky. But she was just teething the doctor said. I think the big signs are when they PULL (not just touch)their ears, and if it is red inside of their ear, it is probably an ear infection. It's hard to tell though. I don't know any better than you do, but from my experience with Alivia it sounds like he might just be teething (but I dont know about the temp). Alivia would wake up in the middle of the night also and just cry, and I would give her a little medicine like teething tablets or tyenol. One night, I grabbed ice cubes, and wrapped it and let her suck at it, and she went to town on it, and I had to get new ice a couple times before she finally had enough, but it helped, and she went right back to sleep after.

First things first...you are a good mom...so don't even go there and second of all not having insurance is not fun at all, we did it all last summer. There is for sure a clinic there that should give discount if paying with cash, or let you pay some each month. Call around and I am sure you will find a doctor that has a free day sometime during the month. I ended up finding a doctor like that last summer and it was so nice. Most offices do give a huge discount when you pay with cash too. Please keep us updated.
