As everyone should know I have been called as Nursery Leader. I am loving it more and more every week. I love the new manual. We are also getting little $2 Book of Mormons for the 3 year old to have scripture time. We have thought of lots of fun ideas and everything is working out smoothly during class.
I have been called of God to be in the nursery. To make changes, to better the nursery. I have only been trying to magnify my calling by asking for things that will better our class.
I find myself complaining about minor issues because I am overwhelmed with the feeling of the church being a sanctuary, A house of ORDER and cleanliness. Over and over I rememeber the confrence talk a while back where he said he was in the men's bathroom wiping down the counters because this was God's house and it desreves respect. How grateful we should be that there is a meeting house for us to attend. We should work very hard to keep it clean and organized. I know the Nursery is our childrens VERY first experience in The Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Day Saints. I have tried to design the organization of the schedule and the toys in a way to teach order, organization, and schedule. The way the church is layed out. To allow the spirit to feel welcomed and the peace to teach the gospel.
Finally, I love my calling.

Well, because I am PMSy - here's what I would do. Go to the hardware store and buy the locks that you can attach to the cabinets. Then get locks and keys. Keep one key for yourself and give one key to the Spanish ward's nursery leader. Tell her your concerns. Those toys and snacks are purchased with tithing money and should be used for their intended purpose. If the primary presidency isn't supporting you, I would go to the bishop. I would also put notes on the nursery cabinets in English and Spanish stating that things need to be cleaned up and put away after each use or they will no longer be available. Period. We had a problem simliar to that, so we got rid of everything. It is now all locked up.
It sounds like you have a raging case of apathy. And someone needs to address it -- and I guess that someone is you. The mess has probably been a problem for years and no one cares any more. I think this is why we rotate through callings. Fresh blood and perspective to get things whipped into shape. Good luck.
Thanks!! I do need to say that the primary president is supportive and on my side. She has addressed things to the bishpop and is pretty "get things done" as well. I will have to take a lot more initiative in things that are good for us though. Adam told me to just do what I need to do and if its super super important and you can't do it alone then tell someone. But it's so hard waiting on someone. Also, the difficultly comes because the spanish branch doesn't have a nursery leader. They rotate parents. Weird huh??!!
I think you are amazing! You are just what they need. I will be praying for you! Good luck.
